Clear Round - 29th August 2005

Bank Holiday Monday, 29th August 2005 was slightly different as the horses and larger ponies went to take part in the Steeple Ride (a popular sponsored ride in Essex).  The smaller ponies and younger riders took part in the Clear Round competition events, but a lot of fun was still had by all as can be see by the photos below!

Most of the children taking part were on the lead rein, but almost all received their rosette for completing the clear round.  The jumps were raised after the lead rein classes for more experienced riders to take part.

This type of horse riding event is important for children - it really adds fun to horse back riding, and getting a rosette as a reward they can take home and proudly show to family and friends gives them a lasting reminder of the day, and spurs them on to improve their riding even more.

Perhaps next year these youngsters will be tackling the fences off the lead rein - or even progressing to higher jumps!

The clear round events allow young riders to feel the excitement of competing in a show jumping environment, tackling different types and styles of jumps, but in a supportive atmosphere where everyone can be a winner!

Clear round jumping is very popular at Limebrook Farm Riding School, and takes place most Bank Holidays.
clear rounds are hard on the leaders! The jumps went higher for more experienced riders
