Update - Laura at six weeks
At six weeks Laura is losing her baby fur and is mischievious and playful. She loves exploring her surroundings, but does not want to get too far from Mum! Click here to see a video of her taken at six weeks old!
How it all began: In the early hours of Sunday, 14th May 2006 Mum Lucy gave birth to a lovely chestnut filly, Laura.
Laura stands approximately 18 inches high and weighing about as much as a cat. Mum Lucy is very proud, and is taking all the attention in her stride.
The vet had warned miniatures often have trouble giving birth, and arrangements were being made to have high tech survellience installed so that her every move could be watched. But first time Mum Lucy fooled everyone, showing no signs of the inminent birth, and the first anyone knew of the event was when Laura Dyer found the new arrival at six o'clock on the Sunday morning.
The foal was named after Laura who not only found her, but who is the main person who looks after the miniatures.
Visitors to the yard are welcome to see the new arrival, but please be quiet when you go to see her.
