Peter was bought at the Cambridge Horse Sales as a 4 year old - unfortunately he was only 2 at the time! He was obviously not put straight into the riding school, but was turned away and only brought back into work at the right age.
Standing 12.2 hh Peter is now 17 years old. He was a very cheeky pony to start with, and was nick named 'Peter Peter the Mummy Eater' as he was prone to giving Mums a quick nip if they stood too close to him - he has mellowed somewhat with age, but still watch your fingers if you are giving him a pat! He has a much bigger attitude than his size, and has to be kept clear of other ponies and horses in the yard as he can kick out if they get into his space!
However, for the young rider Peter is a great ride, willing and responsive. He has a great jump on him too. He has lost his original nickname, and is now just known as Peter Pony.
