Snoopy 1969 - 2005
In the summer of 2005 Limebrook was sad to announce the death of Snoopy, one of its long term livery residents owned by Stuart and Julie.

Snoopy was one of the real characters around the yard, loved by all.  He, and his companion Bertie, were responsible for finding the hacking routes described on this site.

Stuart writes:

"Snoopy had been at Limebrook for 12 years having  been purchased for the vast sum of 10 pence!  We still have the original receipt from previous owners Ray and Emma Clark who live locally and visit the yard frequently.

During his time here Snoopy led many many customers on hacks with owner Julie, and held his own with some of the biggest and fastest horses on the yard behind him!  Kirsten also spent several years riding Snoopy, and will, I am certain, miss him as much as anyone.

Until his last couple of months with us he was regularly ridden and in good health, and enjoyed both giving Sam a run for her money and being spoilt rotten!  Over the hot part of the summer we decided to allow Snoopy to rest as this year he suffered under the hot sun.  He spent quite a lot of time in his box, but remained happy, and could often be seen 'behind the muck heap' enjoying eating grass with Sam.

Snoopy developed a complicated colic during the afternoon of Saturday 13th August and despite the best efforts of Jonathan and Bianca from Paton and Lee, and many sleepless hours by Clare, Alan, Julie & myself. He left us for the great green field in the sky at 4:50 on Sunday morning (14th).  Aged 36 (we think).

Snoopy will be sadly missed by all who have known and ridden him, and by all the other horses.  Especially by Bertie who I am certain knows his friend and stable mate has gone elsewhere."
